Review games your students actually ask to play
Each game is a can of math or grammar question cards for one unit, so students practice every standard and you can see at a glance who has it.
Sound familiar?
Made for the hard parts of teaching
And how they help.
βIβm tired of searching for ways to practice the standards.β
A game for every unit
Every grade-level standard is covered.
βI need games that are easy to differentiate.β
Two ways to answer
Printable questions come as multiple choice or short answer.
βI donβt have time to teach a new game every week.β
One routine all year
Students learn it once and know what to do.
βI want practice my students actually enjoy.β
Their favorite station
Thatβs what teachers tell us, again and again.
How it works
Simple to use, all year

Every standard, a variety of questions
Each can holds the questions for one unit. Students see every standard in different ways, not the same question over and over.
- 10 games with 40 questions each for your grade
- Donβt want to use a can? Organize them in boxes, binders or on rings

Two formats, with or without QR codes
Every printable question comes as multiple choice and short answer, and both come with and without QR codes. Give each student the format that fits, and let them scan to check their own answers.
- Easy to differentiate for every learner
- Students know right away if they got it

Play with games they already love
Pair the question cards with board games your students already know, like Candy Land, Connect 4 or Pie Face.
- A fun twist on review
- Lots of ways to play

Progress monitoring made simple
Every game comes with a progress monitoring checklist, so you can see which standards each student has mastered.
- Students can mark off each skill themselves
- Know who needs a little more practice

Printable and digital, you get both
Every game comes printable, plus interactive PowerPoint and Google Slides versions and a Google Forms version that grades itself and collects data for you.
- Works on tablets, Chromebooks, laptops and phones
- Easy to share in Google Classroom
The can game
How to play
Pull a card
In groups of 2 or more, students take turns pulling a card from the can and answering the question.
Keep it or lose it
Answer it correctly and keep the card. Miss it, and another player can steal it.
Bonus cards
Pull an I CAN card? Add it to your pile and draw again. The player with the most cards wins.
Every game includes
- Can covers in two sizes, with student directions
- A guide to putting it together
- A guide to using it
- A progress monitoring checklist
- A student answer sheet
- Answer keys
- Optional QR codes for self-checking
- A getting started guide for the digital version
Ways to use it
Fits right into your day
Small groups and centers
Grab a can, and students know exactly what to do.
Whole group review
Show the cards on the projector and work through them together.
Test prep
Review a whole unit before the test, or get ready for state testing.
Independent practice and early finishers
Students pull a card, write their answer on the My Answers sheet, and check it.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How will I get my resources?
Right after you buy, you get instant access to your resource in your account on our website. Check your spam folder if you do not see the email.
What do I need to use them?
Microsoft Office or Google Apps. The printable games come as PDFs, and the digital versions come in PowerPoint, Google Slides and Google Forms, so you can share them on any online learning platform.
What is the difference between I CAN Games and I CAN Mini Games?
I CAN Games cover all the standards in a unit, so they are great for reviewing before a test. I CAN Mini Games focus on one standard or skill at a time, so they are great while students are learning something new. Many teachers use both. See the I CAN Mini Games β
What kind of can do you use?
Tennis ball cans. They are sturdy, and you can often get them for free. Each grade has 10 games, so you need 10 cans. Pringles cans or wipes containers work too. And you donβt need a can at all: the games come with lots of other ideas for organizing them.
Are these included in a membership?
Yes. Every kindergarten through 6th grade membership includes I CAN Games for that grade, plus everything else we make for that grade.
Can I share them with other teachers?
Each teacher needs their own copy or membership. The only exception is co-teachers who teach different subjects to the same students. If your school or district would like copies for a team, send us a note through our contact page.

Ready to get started?
Hi, Iβm Kristin, a former teacher and the creator of One Stop Teacher Shop. I made these resources to give teachers the extra practice their curriculum does not, all in one place and ready to use. I hope they save you time and help your students retain what you teach.
